Happy Halloween from Classic Movie Man

Jeanne Crain says “boo!”

During Hollywood’s Golden Age, it was required, as part of their movie contracts, for stars like Jeanne Crain to pose for photographs like this one. This Halloween portrait might have been sent to the dozens of movie magazines available in the 1940s or been posted at local movie houses during the season. It served two purposes: to promote and keep stars like Crain in the public eye and to bolster her studio’s—Twentieth Century-Fox—image.
